This pen is inspired by the Japanese idiom 百花繚乱 (Hyakka Ryōran), meaning “a profusion of flowers in bloom.” It symbolizes a flourishing of culture, diversity, and harmony. The design features 11 varieties of seasonal flowers from Japan, each rendered using distinct Maki-e techniques to highlight its unique character:

• Spring: Cherry Blossom, Violet, Wisteria

• Summer: Clematis, Sweet Lily, Hydrangea

• Autumn: Dianthus, Bellflower, Chrysanthemum

• Winter: Plum Blossom, Winter Peony

Each flower represents not only a season, but also a facet of human expression and coexistence.

Crafted by renowned KOKKOKAI artisan Yutaka Sato, the pen showcases a symphony of traditional Japanese techniques:

• Raden: inlaid mother-of-pearl
