The Story of Giuliano Mazzuoli

Founded in 1948, the Mazzuoli family company has been creating and distributing writing instruments, diaries and notebooks deeply rooted in the values of Italian craftsmanship.
Based in the Tuscan hills near Florence, the brand combines meticulous attention to detail with the authentic passion of skilled artisans, preserving a tradition that has been handed down through generations.

The 3.6.5. name was introduced in the early 1990s with an innovative agenda designed by Giuliano Mazzuoli. The name referred to its 365-day lifespan before being renewed each year.
The success of this project established Mazzuoli as an original and visionary designer, even leading to collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, which selected personalised versions of the agenda for its own stores.

Guided by the belief that beauty can be found in everyday objects, Giuliano Mazzuoli began transforming familiar items into extraordinary writing instruments.
Collections such as Moka, inspired by the iconic Italian coffee maker, and Officina, influenced by the mechanical tools of his grandfather's workshop, perfectly embody this philosophy: functional objects elevated through creativity, elegance and impeccable Italian craftsmanship.

Today, every 3.6.5. Giuliano Mazzuoli writing instrument is still produced in Tuscany. Crafted from carefully selected materials and finished largely by hand, these pens reflect a distinctive design language that blends innovation, practicality and timeless style. More than simple writing instruments, they are small works of art that celebrate the ingenuity, culture and manufacturing excellence of true Made in Italy.

"I don't design; I simply encounter my creations."
