The History of Kaweco
Kaweco's origins date back to the late nineteenth century in Heidelberg, Germany. The Kaweco name derives from Koch, Weber & Compagnie, the company that contributed to the development of the brand and its production of writing instruments at the end of the nineteenth century.
During the early decades of the twentieth century, Kaweco became one of Germany's best-known fountain pen manufacturers. It was during this period that compact writing instruments designed to be easily carried began to appear, a concept that would later become a fundamental part of the brand's identity.
After several phases in its industrial history, the Kaweco brand was revived while retaining many of the design elements that had characterised its historic production, reinterpreting them through contemporary materials, colours and writing systems.

Kaweco Sport
The Kaweco Sport is the brand's most recognisable family. Its characteristic compact format allows the pen to take up very little space when closed, while the cap can be posted on the back of the pen during writing to provide a more comfortable length.
The Sport family includes numerous versions and materials. Alongside the Classic Sport are the Skyline, Collection and AL Sport versions in aluminium, as well as other special interpretations and the Piston Sport with its piston filling system.

Other Kaweco Collections
Alongside the Sport, Kaweco offers models with very different characteristics. The Student features a more traditional design, while the Liliput takes the concept of a compact pen even further with its slim, minimalist body.
The Special is characterised by its long, octagonal shape, while the Dia2 is more closely inspired by the design of traditional German pens. The Perkeo, meanwhile, offers a simple and accessible introduction to fountain pen writing.
Our catalogue also includes Kaweco inks, cartridges, converters, nibs, clips and accessories, allowing many of the brand's pens to be customised and maintained over time.
